Cultural & Creative Entrepreneurship is an emerging discipline that examines how cultural and creative capital (such as art, theater, and literature) and cultural activities (like sports, music, food, and film events) have an impact on the growth of local, national, and global economies.

Despite the huge potentials of the rich creative and cultural heritage of the Nation, the Nigeria’s Cultural and Creative Industry (CCI) was until recently, largely informal.

Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship enhances the promotion of cultural capital in a manner that fosters innovation, competitiveness and integrated marketing communications that develops and increases understanding, cooperation, collaboration, motivation and patronage on a wider and broader spectrum.

Justification for Cultural Entrepreneurship Training

While Cultural Capital and the Creativity that comes with it may be indigenous, the concept of 21st century entrepreneurship which finds expression in creativity, innovation and competitiveness leveraging on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a key enabler has radically transformed the ways and means of fostering enterprise growth and sustainability; especially as it relates to harnessing and enhancing the prospects of generating wealth and creating jobs.

In the face of the fast-changing business operating environment, the need to train and build the capacities and competencies of Cultural Enterprise Operators to embrace contemporary trends to enhance their fortunes and prospects of scaling their income and job creation potentials cannot be overemphasized.

It is in line with the foregoing imperative that the National Cultural and Creative Entrepreneurship and Access to Finance Workshop for Cultural and Creative Enterprise Operators is designed to foster strategic partnership with the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture and other strategic and relevant stakeholders.
